After years of playing the role of the Angel Gabriel, Bruce Leach is now in his 3rd year in the Director’s chair…
As I write this year’s Director’s Blog, it’s amazing to realize just how fast this year has flown by, and… here we are, just a couple weeks from the 2019 Live Nativity performance!
In this year’s performance, we will continue to build on the strengths of the previous year’s performance as we attempt to bring the greatest story ever told to a contemporary audience. In doing so, we are endeavoring to step up our game by improving our individual performances and the quality of our set, sound and lighting.
NEW THIS YEAR: Not only has the name of our host church changed from Clarks Green Assembly of God to Servant Church of the Abingtons, but we’ve added limited bleacher seating for the performance. Along with a new name also comes a new cafe inside the church lobby – ‘The He-Brews Cafe’ – with offerings of coffee, tea, and various snacks.
I continue to be so grateful for the support, dedication and skills of those individuals who have willingly stepped up to take charge of the different departments in support of the Live Nativity. Their competence and ambition make my life easy. I am also so thrilled with all those folks who have enthusiastically volunteered to be in the performance and who, I believe, will do a great job of bringing the nativity story to life. We have a lot of new faces in the cast this year which is great, and their enthusiasm is contagious and a real blessing.
As we continue to pray for the Live Nativity; good weather, solid ground, and receptive hearts – we are grateful for the opportunity we have to again share the nativity story, one of the cornerstones of our faith, with our friends in the community.
